Tarlac State University stepped up in the overall ranking of the WURI 2025 Global Top 400 Innovative Universities, landing on the 256th spot out of more than 1,200 higher education institutions worldwide that submitted entries.
Out of 15 entries submitted by TSU across eight categories, the university ranked 19th in Ethics and Integrity (A6), 20th in ESG Trend (B6), and 43rd in Student Support and Engagement (A1).
The Ethics and Integrity category, where the university ranked highest, focuses on projects that uphold and mold moral values, ethical decision-making, and integrity among students and faculty members.
The next highest-ranked category of TSU is ESG Trend, pertaining to environmental, social, and governance principles reflected in projects and programs aimed at sustainability. This new category in WURI 2025 encourages the reduction of environmental impact, responsible management of resources, and promotion of social inclusivity.
On the other hand, TSU still submitted entries to the Student Support and Engagement category like last year, which zeroes in on projects that support the students' academic and career success, welfare, diversity, inclusion, and participation.
The results were officially announced on July 10, 2025 at the 5th Annual Hanseatic League of University Conference in Dumaguete City.
In 2024, TSU ranked 279th in the WURI 2024 Global Top 300 Innovative Universities, with entries from the Student Support and Engagement (A1), Crisis Management (A5), and Funding (B2) categories reaching the top 100.
Meanwhile, the HLU Annual Conference invited TSU to present the "Sarap Tumulong" project, which was submitted to the WURI 2024 under the Funding category. Extension Director Engr. Emir Lenard S.F. Sicangco led the discussion of the project at the conference.
